Love is the Only Road
I wrote this with Kent Agee (singing backgrounds on this live recording with Jessie Early). In these times, as in all times, I think the message holds up.
GRATITUDE
Gratitude. I wrote this song while my youngest brother, Terrence, was dying from Multiple Sclerosis. His illness and death had a profound effect on my life, and one of the greatest gifts he gave me was a more intentional practice of gratefulness.
The Lost Cause
The Lost Cause. Recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. I wrote this song after a trip to Myanmar (Burma) and met some wonderful people in a country that has suffered for decades in the hands of a corrupt government.
I BELIEVE
I Believe recorded at Blackbird Studio D in Nashville. The title says it all. The band is Tim Lauer on shakers, Bobby Campbell on synth, Tony Lucido on bass, Nir Z on Conga, Kris Donegan on electric guitar and Jerry McPherson on electric guitar. Tim Lauer produced and Buckley Miller engineered.
THE BULLET
(feat. Jessie Early)
This is THE BULLET. I wrote this song after my son fell from a ski lift. He was fine but it certainly could've gone the other way. It was terrifying to see him strapped to a board and immobilized and I hold the gratefulness I felt when we learned after examination and x-rays that he was okay.
ALL TOO HUMAN
(feat. Nathan Lee)
Nathan Lee sings my song "All too Human" from my album MARCH in this video recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. "All too Human" is a song I wrote while my brother was dying. I witnessed how he faced his death with surrender and acceptance and without judgment.
The Answers
(feat. Kent Agee)
The Answers is the first of many songs the incredible Kent Agee and I have written together. I consider him a mentor, a genius, and a great friend. This song is about my dad.
Across His Back
(feat. Chris Caminiti)
Across His Back-Chris Donohoe and Chris Caminiti Diving in a cloud of dust, the kid was born for second base The story goes that he had learned, to turn two before he turned eight I had won his momma's heart, but he wasn't gonna let me in He told me
